NavInfo displays the V2X Vehicle Infrastructure Cooperation Solution on WIoT 2018

It is reported that the LTE-V2X project is co-created by six core units of China Mobile, Traffic Management Research Institute of the Ministry of Public Security, Huawei, the Traffic Police Detachment of Wuxi Public Security Bureau, China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT), and Jiangsu Tian"an Intelligence Union, jointly banded with 23 enterprises and units including Navinfo; The project takes the main roads in the main urban area and new urban area of Wuxi as a pilot, and participant enterprises or units deploy V2X-related IoT sensing equipment, data processing equipment and software services.

RSU (Road Side Unit), one key sensing device of LTE-V2X, is deployed with relevant products and services provided by Huawei. In June, Huawei unveiled the first commercial product in the V2X connected car field, with positioning performance including Beidou Navigation satellite signals. And in a technical test last year, Huawei revealed that its LTE-V2X scheme had a direct connection perception of more than 1 kilometer, with communication latency less than 20 milliseconds in high-density scenarios, such as near the intersection where 400 cars gathered; meanwhile, the relative speed within 500km/h can be sensed when the two cars meet.

In Wuxi pilot project, the environment is perceived with RSU, and the computer vision solution based on camera equipment is deployed, which is used for real-time perception of vehicles and pedestrians (that is, V2V and V2P), and is integrated into the NI-V2X platform for display; in addition, the NI-V2X platform has realized the compatibility and visualization of the real-time change information of the signal light at the intersection (that is, the support for V2I).

So far, the project has deployed RSU equipment, cameras and other information processing devices at more than 240 signal light intersections in the 170km2 of the pilot area, He said.

The driver can be more accurately reminded whether there are pedestrians (students) passing in the street near front school, thus helping drivers respond effectively; or the V2V perception can overcome the blind spot of the automobile rearview mirror effectively in the intersection zone from the auxiliary road entered into the main road and from the main road exited to the auxiliary road. When the vehicle enters the main road or auxiliary road, it can use RSU to perceive other vehicles, indicate whether the driver is at risk of passing.
