China Academy of Surveying and Mapping and NavInfo jointly developed a automated driving map

 Currently, automated driving has attracted worldwide attention. In recent years, National Administration of Surveying, Mapping and Geo Information has paid great attention to the application of automated driving related technologies and products in the industry. Several investigations and visits have been conducted on this topic. National Administration of Surveying, Mapping and Geo Information has given important guidance and support to enterprises in respects of policy support, industrial incubation and technology application. In order to put forward to the development and standardization of automated driving technology in China, in line with the thinking of advancing with the times, Geographic Information and Mapping Division of National Administration of Surveying, Mapping and Geo Information has regarded to facilitate the relevant policies formulation of automated driving technology as an important task and continuously allied with Key leading enterprises in the industry to jointly advance this matter.

Recently, under the guidance and promotion of National Administration of Surveying, Mapping and Geo Information, China Academy of Surveying and Mapping and NavInfo, through the research and repeated testing done by a number of experts from both parties , have achieved the initial results in automated driving maps (also known as high-precision maps, that is, HAD maps for highly automated driving defined by the new Enterprise Standard for NavInfo) and vehicle end encryption plug-in encryption algorithm study, and have successfully optimized the matching accuracy between automated driving map data processed with non-linear security technology and the vehicle location data processed with security plug-in. This move has taken a solid step toward the practical application of automated driving maps in the near future and has also made a good start for the further development of automated driving in the future. This has played a very good role in paving the way for formulation of subsequent relevant policies.

As the first digital map supplier with navigation electronic map qualification issued by National Administration of Surveying, Mapping and Geo information, NavInfo previously jointly developed and put forward to the traditional navigation digital map standard with National Administration of Surveying, Mapping and Geo information. Both parties once again shoulder the responsibility of setting up standards for high-precision maps used for future automated driving. NavInfo has also become the first enterprise to facilitate the technical standards development process of automated driving related products with relevant government departments. At the same time, China Academy of Surveying and Mapping together with NavInfo launched in-depth cooperation in respects of spatial location protection technology processing of automated driving map products. Government and enterprises join hands to put forward to new technology application in technical way. China Academy of Surveying and Mapping and NavInfo opened a good start for the industry.

Automated driving maps play an irreplaceable role in high precision positioning, NLOS virtual sensing perception, lane level path planning navigation and automated driving vehicle decision control and other intelligent decision driving scenes, and they are an important part of the implementation of automated driving. Since NavInfo started the research and development of automated driving maps in 2013 up to now, its map products have gradually been mature. The company has maintained close cooperation relations with a number of top international companies in respects of automatic driving map product commercialization and has received positive feedback in the joint test with many car factories.

In the future, NavInfo will keep close cooperation with National Administration of Surveying, Mapping and Geo Information and China Academy of Surveying and Mapping, continue to carry out road environment test for follow-up real vehicle, and fully put forward to the road test for L3 and above automated driving vehicle, in order to rapidly and orderly promote the formulation of relevant policies, and vigorously facilitate the product standardization of automated driving maps and the practical application of automated driving solutions.
